Baby Yoga for Mums and Babies

Birthlight Baby Yoga is adapted from classic Hatha yoga postures. The body is stimulated and stretched in order to be able to relax better.  This gives us harmony between ourselves and the universe – babies get the benefits too!

Yoga for babies gives them physical stimulation, strengthens the spine, develops supple joints, alleviates wind and colic, reduces stress hormones, aiding sleep patterns and awakens all the body’s systems.  Practising yoga enhances the developmental process, strengthening all functions of the nervous system. Baby yoga gives your baby an immediate sense of well-being.  

A six week ongoing course for mum and baby.  Mum and baby enjoy a great exercise class whilst baby is very happy and involved.  The class focuses on strengthening and toning muscles, regaining good posture and increasing fitness.  Helps encourage baby co-ordination and develop motor and neural skills.  The class involves music and singing to help with interaction and bonding.  A fantastic and fun class.  Suitable for mums and babies from six weeks after birth.  Mum needs to have had her six week postnatal check with the GP and, have been given  permission to re-start gentle exercise.

All classes are baby led.  Please feel free to feed, change or soothe your baby as necessary during the class.  A baby yoga session gives your baby as much stimulation as a whole day of being held and carried – if your baby falls asleep don’t worry we will go over everything.
